ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

Our Associates degrees are two-year degrees that prepare the student for specialized ministry or positions them for the four-year Bachelors degree. The associate program is a 60-hour program that provides multiple disciplines of study that empower the student for Kingdom-based ministry. This degree serves as the first two years of the four-year Bachelor’s degree or they serve as an Associate level of study in specialized areas of ministry.

Program Requirements

  • A total of 60 semester hours are required with a minimum of 30 semester hours from KBU.
  • A 2.5 GPA is required on a scale of 4.0 (each course is worth 3 semester hours).

Associates of Kingdom Theology

The Associate of Kingdom Theology Program is designed to provide an introduction to the field of Kingdom theology for the beginning seminary student. The purpose of this program of study, which provides students with an in-depth study of the Kingdom of God and related topics, is the preparation of Kingdom-minded leaders, who are equipped to preach and teach the Kingdom of God The program is 60 semester hours in length and is the gateway to the bachelor’s program.

First Year Courses

Course Title Course Description
Systematic Theology 1 This course is structured to facilitate a broad overview of the main theological themes of the Bible as it pertains to understanding God and the spiritual world. Topics covered will include: understanding doctrine, spiritual warfare, heaven and hell, the doctrine of angels, and the doctrine of last things. This course also seeks to systematically examine the deity, continual work, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Systematic Theology 2 This course is structured to facilitate a broad overview of the main theological themes of the Bible, specifically the church and the Kingdom of God. This course is also designed to equip the student with the ability to answer, utilizing a thorough understanding of the tenets of the doctrine of salvation, age-old questions about how one is saved, when one is saved, and whether one is always saved.
Systematic Theology 3 This course examines the fundamental teachings of the apostles and provides the learner with an opportunity to increase their foundational understanding of biblical doctrine.
Systematic Theology 4 This course is structured to facilitate a broad overview of the main theological themes of the Bible, specifically the church, the Kingdom of God, spiritual warfare, and last things. It offers a methodical approach to developing an understanding of biblical doctrine. Students will systematize the major themes and become aware of the major historical doctrines of the Christian faith.
Old Testament Studies 1 (The Pentateuch) This course is a study of the first five books of the Bible, looking at the origin of the earth, the development of humanity, and the nation of Israel.
Old Testament Studies 2 This course is a study of the Historical Books of the Old Testament, from the book of Joshua through Esther. The background and structure of each book is examined.
New Testament Studies 1 This course gives the student an introduction to the New Testament while also providing a broad overview of Jewish culture and the Intertestamental Period.
New Testament Studies 2 This course is designed to familiarize the student with a further understanding of the New Testament. Course focus is on the four gospels and Acts, the gospel of the Kingdom, the Apostle Paul, non-Pauline epistles and Revelation, and the development of the early church in its various historical and cultural settings.
Church History 1 This course is designed to familiarize the learner with the basic history of the church. The course will examine the main events and personalities that help shape the foundation for modern day Christianity. It will focus upon the first four periods of the six divisions of church history.
Church History 2 This course is designed to familiarize the learner with the contemporary history of the church. The course will examine the main events and personalities that help shape the foundation for modern day Christianity. This course is designed to provide for the learner a firm foundation for his/her contemporary theology.

Second Year Courses

Course Title Course Description
One True King The course explores the issues that have impacted the contemporary church in America and why revival is necessary. The course will also teach the student about the idols that have infiltrated the church and prevented it from embracing Christ as King.
Welcome to the Kingdom In this course, the student will learn the difference between the church and the Kingdom, the Kingdom message and mission in a 21st century context, and the key relationships of every Kingdom citizen.
From the Kingdom to the Church This course will teach you the difference between the church and the Kingdom. The course will also teach the student how to overcome the obstacles of the contemporary church and participate in the Kingdom of God.
Understanding Yourself and Others In this course you will learn how to manage relationships effectively. From the fall of Adam in the garden, human relationships have been distorted. We will explore the four temperament types and their tendencies in personal relationships.
Kingdom Change & Transformation This course explores the biblical and clinical evidence of personal change. It will teach how change is achieved and discusses how to employ change initiatives.
Kingdom Man & Kingdom Woman This course explores the biblical roles of men and women. It will examine the genders in the Kingdom and the biblical mandate men and women are called to fulfill.
Kingdom Marriage: Trouble in the Flesh This course is a study of sound biblical and relational skill sets necessary for building the foundation for a Kingdom-focused marriage.
Kingdom Ministry(The Work of Ministry) The book of Ephesians states that the purpose of the fivefold ministry is to “equip the saints for the work of ministry.” In this course we define what the work of ministry is and how to perform it.
Kingdom Discipleship
Introducing the Kingdom This course is designed to familiarize the learner with a basic ethos and practices of Kingdom citizens. This course aims to assist the student in what it means to practically live as a Kingdom citizen and seek first the Kingdom of God.
